Sherri Y. Johnson

 

Sherri Y. Johnson is the creative visionary of Supreme Gospel Entertainment & Marketing (SGEM), which is a promotion/marketing and community outreach organization based in Philadelphia. She is also a contributing entertainment columnist for the Scoop USA Newspaper, which is the oldest African-American owned print media in the area . Sherri is an alumnus of University of Maryland Eastern Shore where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Communications and an alumnus of LaSalle University where she earned Master of Arts degree in Professional Communications.

 

Sherri gained early exposure to both radio and television as a teenager. She worked as an intern at WDAS AM-FM Radio (Philadelphia, PA), was a part-time radio announcer at WIMG Radio (Trenton, NJ) and worked as a sales assistant at WGTW-TV 48 (Philadelphia, PA).  Still working in radio, in 1998, Sherri established SGEM originally as an all Gospel deejay record pool, which later became a multi-faceted promotion, marketing and community outreach organization catering to the needs of the indie artists looking for ways to broaden their horizons.

 

Whether it is working on national marketing campaigns for artists or coordinating street teams for clients, Sherri has has a passion to share her expertise with others. She hosts and participates in workshops, seminars, conferences where she shares the intricate details of the music business and the importance of giving back to the community.  She has also facilitated national outreach endeavors where hundreds of children received school supplies, families received food and financially challenged individuals received tips on saving techniques as well as financial assistance towards utility bills. Every year Sherri and her team personally delivers food baskets to deserving families during Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as distribute coats, clothing and toys throughout the year.

 

 

She is also is a devoted wife and mother and continues to value personal quality time with her family while still representing her organization with class and integrity. Her daily actions truly exhibits what she believes in her heart--that it is more blessed to give. Sherri is available for speaking engagements, events and community outreaches.
